Nowadays, saving costs on personnel is very important to survive in an increasingly competitive world. In addition, it is becoming more and more important to deliver products with a constant quality, if necessary 24 hours a day. Both these problems occur with packing vegetables and fruit. Greefa has created a solution for this in the form of the Flexpicker.

 

The Flexpicker is an industrial robot for the fast and accurate movement of delicate products. By using the Flexpicker, vegetables and fruit – such as kiwis, apples, pears and tomatoes – can be automatically packed. The Flexpicker is especially suited for packing vegetables and fruit in boxes with trays.

As a result of its ingenious construction, the FlexPicker has a high capacity; the maximum capacity is 120 products per minute, with a maximum product weight of 2 kg per product. This allows you to save on up to three employees per Flexpicker. Depending on the required capacity, several Flexpickers can be placed in line.

 

Operation

The products are fed on a conveyor belt. There is a camera above the conveyor belt that recognises the products by their shape. The products are picked one at a time by the suction cup on the end of the arms of the Flexpicker. Thus, the products are handled in a friendly way. During the transport from the conveyor belt to the box, the suction cup can rotate a product. This ensures optimum presentation of the products in the box.
