Sorting by Ripeness: Greefa's iFD system

Ripeness

Although it is not always visible on the outside, every piece of fruit is at a certain stage of ripening. Greefa’s non-destructive firmness detection system provides you with a method to sort by ripeness. The so-called intelligent Firmness Detector (iFD) gives you the possibility to give your customer an accurate forecast about the storage life and ideal consumption time of your fruit.

iFD is placed on the singulator. During the sorting process, a firmness sensor takes up to 20 measurements around the fruit. This patented firmness detection system has been successfully applied in practice, for example for apples, avocados, mangos, peaches and kiwis.

Sample Option

Greefa even has a desk top model available. Making it possible for you to assess samples of your fruit, before harvesting for example.
