Greefa iQS on tomatoes

First in South Africa

ZZ2, the largest tomato producer in South Africa, is the first in the world to automatically sort tomatoes by quality. This is done with a six lane Greefa SmartSort and iQS technology. They have been successfully sorting with iQS for more than 4 years now.

South Africa is unique for it’ s open field tomatoes. Because growers in the rest of the world use greenhouses and tunnels, conditions can be controlled. Open field tomatoes are exposed to different (weather) conditions and therefore require different sorting needs. The Greefa iQS technology can meet these requirements.

Sorting in 4 different quality groups, 7 colour and 4 size groups they can perfecty meet different market requirements, with constant quality. The machine in combination with a Greefa washer unit makes it possible to do 23 hours a day, 7 days a week and app. 49 weeks a year.
